No mountain too high for Progress to Excellence fundraisers
There’s no mountain too high or no challenge too great for staff from Progress to Excellence as they prepare for another huge fundraising quest.
A team of 10 is taking on the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge to raise vital funds for Autism Together, the company’s charity of the year, as well as other individual charities close to their hearts.
They’re all currently taking part in a serious fitness regime in readiness for the event which will involve them climbing Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis – the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland – over the weekend of July 22 and 23.
Leading the team and making sure they are fit to tackle the challenge is personal trainer Andy Lee, from Hoylake-based Positive Developmental Change.
He said: “They’ve all been following a training plan for some weeks now and they are truly on top of the programme. You can actually see the competitive nature of the team coming to the fore.
“It’s a tough challenge, particularly for those who have never done anything as hard as this before, but the important thing – apart from raising a lot of money from sponsorship – is to enjoy it.”
Damian Burdin, chief executive at Progress to Excellence Ltd, added: “There’s nothing staff here won’t tackle for a good cause, no matter how difficult. This will be a particularly tough one for them though but, like everything they do, it will be tackled with energy and enthusiasm.”
